Shipping policy

Delivering your online order:

This service is available throughout South Africa. Delivery usually takes between 3 to 15 working days, Monday to Friday (excluding weekends and public holidays) on condition your order is placed and confirmation and payment is received.

Every reasonable effort is made to ensure that the products for sale on the website are available within this time frame, and should your delivery require a longer lead time, we will be in touch with you directly to confirm the lead time and delivery time frame

What will Delivery Cost?

While most deliveries are free from Mervis Jewellers, we do reserve the right to change this and charge a delivery fee that will be communicated and calculated at check out for your purchase.

Should we need to charge a delivery fee, please note that delivery prices differ and are determined by the following:

Location within major center's or outlying Delivery areas;
The type of delivery selected, (normal order, special order, customer order) or,
The Weight and Dimensions of the total purchase order.
In the event of a special delivery deal, the price of the product or total purchase order value could determine the delivery rate.
The price of delivery is calculated automatically, and the amount will be displayed in the shopping cart and at checkout before the payment process is completed.

Please note however that during Sales and Special Events delivery may take up to 10 working days. If we anticipate that delivery will take longer than this, we will contact you to let you know. All orders placed on weekends will start to be processed on the following Monday.

You or a person authorised to accept delivery on your behalf, must be available during normal business hours at the delivery address specified in the Order Confirmation ("Delivery Address"). Any person accepting delivery of the Products may be required to produce a form of identification.

If we are unable to deliver your order within 15 days of your receipt of an Order Confirmation, we will contact you either process refund immediately or arrange to deliver another product, to the same value.

What are the delivery time frames?

Delivery service timeframes will start after payment confirmation has been received, unless supporting documents like the verification of an I.D. document is required.

Delivery periods will generally be effected within the selected delivery type timeframe, after collection from the point of dispatch and between major centres, Monday to Friday.

We deliver from Monday to Friday from 08h00 to 17h00 to both business and residential addresses.

No deliveries will take place on a Saturday, Sunday or any other Public Holiday.

Major centres include any destination within a 40km radius of the following cities, Pretoria, Johannesburg, Bloemfontein, Cape Town, Port Elizabeth, East London, Durban, Pietermaritzburg and Nelspruit. Delivery outside the main centres are usually 3 to 15 working days. The following areas may experience delays due to airline constraints: George, Northern Cape, Nelspruit, Richards Bay, Polokwane and Welkom.

Incorrect items or quantity delivered:

Should the wrong products or the incorrect number of products be delivered to you, you need to notify Mervis Jewellers immediately so that we can rectify the situation.

We will get someone to collect the incorrect items and replace them with the correct items.

Tracking

Once your order has been shipped by our courier company you will receive an email and sms confirmation providing full shipping details, as well as a tracking number.

Late Delivery

The Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 (‘ECT Act’), entitles you to cancel your purchase within 7 days’ notice if the products you have purchased, are not delivered within the agreed delivery period, as specified in the Mervis Jewellers terms and conditions. The product(s) in question must be returned to Mervis Brothers Jewellers in their original state, including all labels. Any such cancellation must be done by either calling our Customer care on 011 616 7504 or emailing hello@mervis.co.za Thereafter, Mervis Brothers Jewellers will refund you.
